Hamburg, January 18, 2022 Hamburg-based Nect GmbH, a leading developer of innovative solutions for fully automated online identification for digital internet applications, continued the positive business development of recent years in 2021. The startup, founded five years ago, was once again able to significantly increase the reach of its product over the past twelve months. As of December 31, nearly twice as many customers were actively using the Nect app compared to the previous year. This makes Nect one of the most relevant identity wallets in Germany today
Nect’s highly successful development is also reflected in the number of employees, which rose to over 90 last year, nearly doubling compared to 2020.
As a rapidly growing company, Nect has also created two new management positions, which have been filled by experienced experts. With Dr. Stephanie Busch and Dr. Katrin Grage, two more women have joined the management team at Nect GmbH.
Since January 1, 2022, Dr. Stephanie Busch has been serving as Vice President People & Culture at Nect. As an experienced Human Resources expert, she is responsible for employee development and corporate culture. Holding a PhD in economics (FU Berlin), she has 20 years of experience in the startup, gaming, and SaaS industries, particularly in corporate development, HR, organizational development, and strategic management. Before joining Nect, Stephanie Busch served as VP People Operations at Eyeo GmbH (Adblock Plus). Previously, her roles included positions at Facelift brand building technologies GmbH (social media management software) and as Director of Human Resources at the career network Xing. Stephanie Busch is also active as a freelance business coach and lecturer at various universities.
Stephanie Busch, VP People & Culture: “In recent years, our founders have strongly encouraged employee autonomy, and this is exactly where I want to start with the team: We want to equip employees with meaningful HR tools and, together with all colleagues, explicitly express the corporate culture that has been lived implicitly until now. It is a major priority for me to make our employees, managers, and HR structures ‘fit’ for the next phase of growth.”
Katrin Grage, Vice President Operations: “The innovative, market-leading technology, the intuitive product, and above all, the Nect team convinced me immediately. I look forward to helping drive growth and contributing to the expansion of Nect’s leading position in the field of digital identity verification.”
For Benny Bennet Jürgens, Founder and CEO of Nect GmbH, the company’s positive development is a confirmation of the path taken so far and, at the same time, an incentive for the current year. “We will continue to pursue our goal of providing an ID ecosystem accessible to everyone with high, long-term value for the user, always thinking one step ahead. With Katrin and Stephanie, we are laying a foundation for the further successful scaling of the organization. We are taking the next step toward an ecosystem starting in February with our new option for a qualified electronic signature via the Nect app.”
Nect GmbH is an award-winning IT company based in Hamburg. Founded in 2017 by Benny Bennet Jürgens and Carlo Ulbrich, Nect stands for the implementation of fully automated trust services using highly advanced technology. The Robo-Ident technology developed and patented by Nect was first used in 2018 in the form of Selfie-Ident—an AI-based online identification via app—at R+V Versicherung. Today, other well-known companies, including Telekom Deutschland, BARMER, and the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB), are part of the customer base.In addition to Selfie-Ident, Nect offers a solution for qualified electronic signatures (QES) as well as Nect ID, which functions as an app wallet. Nect ID allows the reuse of a once-verified identity with just a selfie video.
Data security and data protection are the focus of Nect’s solutions. This is ensured both by the complete in-house development of software components and the use of data centers in Germany with exceptionally high security levels, as well as the avoidance of cloud solutions.
