Nect Ticket-Ident: AI-driven trust services for the event industry

Nect is expanding its product portfolio. With the new Ticket-Ident, the IT company enables trustworthy communication at online events and secure access to on-site events through identified eTickets. On November 3, 2020, the new solution from Nect GmbH went live for the first time. The partner is InsurLab Germany, which is using Ticket-Ident for registration for this year’s Accelerator Demo Day.

Hamburg, November 12, 2020 Nect GmbH, the IT company for AI-driven trust services from Hamburg, went live for the first time on November 3, 2020 with a new product extension, Nect Ticket-Ident. The AI-driven Ticket-Ident offers customers a combination of ticketing and identification and thus the generation of a secure eTicket in the Nect app. Through identification using an identity document and a selfie video, only authorized persons are granted access.

Film and photograph identity document, record selfie video, receive eTicket. That’s how simple and completely autonomous the new Ticket-Ident from Nect GmbH works, which, like the provider’s other products, is based on the unique, in-house developed Robo-Ident technology. As a partner of InsurLab Germany, the largest industry initiative of the German insurance industry, Nect is securing participation in this year’s Accelerator Demo Day through identified eTickets, which are conveniently made available to participants in the Nect app. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the second lockdown, innovative, promising startups in the industry are presenting their projects and results from the six-month Accelerator program digitally this year. Anyone who wants to participate as a spectator must first register via the InsurLab Germany website and then unlock their ticket in a further step through identification with the Nect app. After successful identification, participants receive an eTicket that is stored in the Nect Wallet, the collection point for all digital services supported by Nect, and contains an access code for the online event. In addition, identification using the identity document ensures that only authorized persons gain access and the exclusive nature of the event is maintained. Laura Duffe from InsurLab Germany is pleased about the collaboration: “We are delighted to start a cooperation with our alumni Accelerator start-up Nect. Nect supports us with the registration processes for our events and thus automates our internal processes. This is of enormous value particularly for upcoming hybrid events in times of coronavirus, as participants can be contacted directly in the event of possible infection risk. After four weeks, participants’ contact data is automatically deleted.” Nect has been a member of InsurLab Germany since 2017 and has successfully completed Accelerator Batch#19, among others. At this year’s Accelerator Demo Day, Nect CEO Benny Bennet Jürgens will also provide insights into the company’s success story.

Benny Bennet Jürgens and Carlo Ulbrich, CSO and Co-Founder of Nect, are also pleased about the first deployment of their Ticket-Ident: “As a partner of InsurLab Germany, which has already provided us with many opportunities on our journey, we are very proud to now use Ticket-Ident for the first time in this context. Through the feedback from InsurLab members, our Selfie-Ident has become what it is; we now hope for the same for our new product,” says Jürgens.

For future live on-site events, i.e. with in-person attendance, Ticket-Ident offers further advantages: At the entrance, only the eTicket from the Nect app needs to be scanned. The previously completed identification of each participant replaces the presentation of an identity card at the entrance. This shortens waiting times and simplifies the admission procedure. But that’s not all. Particularly in times of coronavirus, the solution scores points. Should a coronavirus infection be detected in an attendee after an event, all other (relevant) participants can be quickly located and informed via the Nect app. In this way, the verified eTicket helps to interrupt chains of infection at an early stage and provides the event industry with the foundation for sophisticated hygiene concepts and thus a real opportunity to soon hold on-site events again.

In addition to Ticket-Ident and Nect’s core product, Selfie-Ident, the company is developing further trust services such as e-signature and AI-driven multi-factor authentication. With around 2 million app downloads in the last 12 months and access for approximately 60 million people in Germany, the Nect app is the most successful solution for remote identification.
