Nect Ident with ePass approved for creating the GesundheitsID

Together with the Federal Ministry for Digital and State Modernisation (BMDS) and the digital association Bitkom, Nect has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the successful introduction of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet).

The EUDI Wallet will become the key to genuine digital sovereignty in Europe—secure, interoperable and user-centric. With our many years of expertise in smart identity solutions, Nect is preparing its technologies early for the European Architecture Reference Framework (ARF). The aim is to make identification, signing, credential management and paperless communication not only reliable, but also user-friendly.

Our commitment under the MoU:

Early preparation: Nect is converting its services and processes to be “wallet-ready” and integrating the EUDI Wallet specifications.
Joining forces: Together with BMDS, Bitkom and other stakeholders, we are pooling the expertise of government and industry to successfully introduce the wallet.
Transparent communication: We provide regular updates on the development status and the next steps for the EUDI Wallet.

The memorandum provides for informing the public early about timelines, functions and services. A stocktake in Q3 2026 will ensure that the EUDI Wallet can be used by citizens and businesses from 2027 onwards—including identification, age verification and digital credentials.
