Hamburg, October 21, 2021 In 2017, Benny Bennet Jürgens and Carlo Ulbrich founded the technology startup Nect in Hamburg. Today, after just over four years, around 100 employees work for the company. Well-known companies such as Telekom Deutschland, R+V Versicherung, and BARMER are among its customer base. Now, Co-Founder and CSO of Nect, Carlo Ulbrich, wants to use his experience to advocate for founders as well as small and medium-sized enterprises as the new chairman of the Committee for Business Formation and Development at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
“In Hamburg, there are many people with innovative and forward-looking ideas. However, anyone who wants to build a company needs the city’s support to be able to implement these ideas. As co-founder of Nect, I have experienced firsthand the challenges one faces and how critically important municipal support is. Without the support of IFB Hamburg (Hamburg Investment and Development Bank), the founding of Nect would not have been possible. With my expertise, I want to contribute to Hamburg continuing to develop as a startup location and to founders getting the chance to turn their visions into reality,” says the entrepreneur.
In 2021, 15,440 business formations have been registered in Hamburg so far. This corresponds roughly to the pre-crisis level of 2019.
