Nect convinced the jury with “Nect ID”. The feature, available in the Nect app since April 2021, functions as a digital ID and enables the simple reuse of the once-stored identity as a digital wallet. Instead of going through the complete identification process again, the user with the Nect ID only needs to take a new selfie, which is compared with the already stored data. An identification now takes only a few seconds.
Benny Bennet Jürgens is pleased with the recognition: “The introduction of the Nect ID was one of our milestones this year. Through the new feature, we have created a digital ID that makes identification incomparably simple and convenient for users and provides our basis for an EU-wide wallet.”
Nect was awarded the German Excellence Award for the third consecutive time, initiated by the German Institute for Service Quality, DUP UNTERNEHMER magazine, and ntv. In 2019, the Hamburg-based company received 1st place in the “Portals & Platforms – Startups” category, and in 2020 it won in the “Digital Services B2C – Startups” category.
This year, Nect is the winner in the “B2C Software, Apps & Customer Experience B2C / B2E” category.
In 2021, Nect reached several important milestones. The company, founded in 2017, now employs around 100 people, is launching operations in Switzerland, Austria, Spain, and Poland, and has acquired more than 100 new customers. So far, the focus has been on B2B business. Nect’s customer base includes numerous insurance companies such as R+V Versicherung, telecommunications companies such as Telekom Deutschland, and the majority of German statutory health insurance funds, such as Barmer and Techniker Krankenkasse.
