Hamburg, June 6, 2022 Hamburg-based Nect GmbH, a premium provider in digital identity, is setting new standards: With its patent-pending feature “Put Your Face Here”, the company now offers a completely new way to secure the video recording of an identification document against manipulation and at the same time guide the user even more easily. Nect thus creates another innovation in terms of security and user-friendliness.
With the new function, the user is shown a frame on their mobile device screen in which they must place the photo of their ID card. Once this has been successfully done, this frame is moved to another, randomly selected position on the screen. The user must place their photo there again. This process is usually repeated several times and the user is interactively guided to the next placement.
“Put Your Face Here” effectively ensures that a current recording of the identification document is made. The method shows high effectiveness against digital manipulation such as deep fakes and provides excellent image material for checking optically variable security features of the identification document.

The successful Nect Ident solution includes fully automatic digital identification with all its functions. These include identification via selfie video, via the online ID function of the ID card (eID), or with additional documents such as a driver’s license or electronic health card.
