The Hamburg-based IT company Nect, known for its AI-based Robo-Ident technology, is now deploying the Nect ID for various digital activation processes. If a user wants to identify themselves to the Federal Employment Agency, Telekom, or Barmer, for example, they can use the Nect app. This is where the Robo-Ident technology comes in, verifying the user's identity based on their physical ID document. After using the process once, their Nect ID is created in the app, providing them with a digital counterpart to their physical ID. Various digital ID projects for smartphones are currently underway in both the private sector and government agencies. Nect has now transitioned its pilot project, Nect ID, into live operation.
